A monthly newsletter about the events of Elkhorn Quest.
We are a homeschool support group meeting in the Elkhorn and Greater Omaha area to support, encourage and enrich families of homeschooling families.
Updates
We are probably going to be changing locations in the following school year, and are beginning to look for a location. If your church or public meeting facility likes to support children’s education, strong families and community involvement, they may be interested in hosting our group. We wish to find a location where we can meet twice a month, using several classroom areas or a large area to divide up in. We try to keep costs extremely low to allow families to participate easily, and so far have not charged rent fees to our members. However, we do our best to help out whatever facility we are at in whatever ways possible. If your facility may be interested, please contact Felicia.
Co-op Class Planning
It’s crazy to think that the end of this school year is nearly here, and even crazier to think about how quickly a new one will be sneaking up on us! Please get your thinking caps on and start brewing ideas about next year. We will be posting planning notes on this blog later in the month, and will look forward to hearing want you and your crew are interested in, what you have in your supplies that you might be willing to do with some other students, and what brilliant ideas you just can’t wait to teach. I’ve already been hearing great things, and can’t wait to see what comes up! If you haven’t been involved in out co-op classes, you are welcome to check these planning posts out to see what you think, and plug in your thoughts on it, as well.
Calendar of Events
Friday, April 6, 11:15am-12:15pm
Our Saviour’s Baptist Church
Learn about two different areas of the world today! Recently, the Davis family of seven took an extended trip to France to help renovate an old school, and will share about their experiences. Then, some of our very own teens, Jessica, Elissa, Daniel and Sara join us along with the Davis family to tell about their very recent mission trip to Mexico to build houses and share the good news of Jesus. We will make a paper bag piñata craft to take home, and if you are able to bring lunch-size paper bags, yarn, colorful tissue paper or colorful paper streamers, we would gladly put them to good use.
This workshop time is always free and requires no RSVP. You are welcome to bring a lunch and join us to visit after the workshop from 12:15-1:00. Friend’s Café will have corndogs and quesadillas available for sale.
Co-op Classes- 9:00-2:30
Snacks: Felicia M. (please bring a snack for 40)
Friday, April 13, 11:30am-1:00pm
Ta-Ha-Zouka Park on Elkhorn Drive, in Elkhorn
Let’s enjoy spring, visit and get outside a bit! Hopefully the weather will cooperate for us again. Come at whatever time works for you. Bring a lunch and picnic, if you’d like. If the weather isn’t good, check emails to see if there’s a backup plan. Felicia has a previous commitment and won’t be there, so please RSVP if you think you will. I will put your names on the reminder email for you to know who to look for.

If you are new to homeschooling or an old hand, looking for everything you need for next year or maybe just ideas to peruse, in need of encouragement on this challenging journey or ready to input into someone else’s life to give them the strength for the next step, this could be the place for you. Register on the website to reserve your place. Some of us want to get together for dinner on the Friday evening, and some of us moms are considering splitting hotel costs and spending extra relationship building and encouraging time together. If you want to join us for either of those, contact Felicia.
